Shantzie Ponce

Hi! My name is Shantzie, I’m an international student from Guatemala majoring in Public Health with minors in Health Disparities and Business Administration. I had the amazing opportunity to study abroad in Bangkok through the UF in Thailand - Experiential Learning program last Summer. For four weeks, I shadowed nurses, doctors, and administrative staff at a Public Health Center. This experience gave a deep dive into global healthcare systems, while also exploring how culture and health intersect in real-life settings. When I wasn’t at the clinic, I was out exploring the beautiful city of Bangkok, meeting new people and discovering its incredible food and endless places to hang out. Studying abroad is one of the highlights of my undergraduate experience!
