Lilly Johnson

Hi! My name is Lilly, and I studying Nutritional Sciences here at UF. I studied abroad in Laikipia, Kenya Summer 2023. My program was UF in Kenya, a UF sponsored program, and focused on wildlife conservation. We spent our time learning about the diverse ecosystem and everything that is being done to protect it. This included going on game drives, conducting fieldwork, and talking with local people. While the trip was amazing; it also had its challenges. One of which being that we lived in tents in the middle of the Bush. As someone who does not go camping, and appreciates not being a lions midnight snack, this was very intimidating. However, I can now say that tent life in the bush is not as scary as it seems and was possibly the best three weeks of my life. Studying abroad has been one of the best decisions I have ever made, and I cannot recommend it enough.
