Hi, I’m Ellie Morris (she/her)! I studied abroad as a rising Junior in Summer 2022 on the UF in Italy: Food Production to Consumption program. As a food science major, this trip the perfect way to learn about the food industry from an international perspective and solidified my choice in this industry. We toured large and small production facilities, and saw first hand how production, quality, safety, regulatory, and sensory fields play a role in the food we eat. As a foodie, I also loved being able to try new and delicious foods every day! The same summer, I also traveled to Morocco with the CALS Leadership Institute and learned about Moroccan culture, history, and agriculture. I think traveling and food are such important ways to learn more about new cultures, I’m so grateful for my experiences and wouldn’t trade them for the world.
