Amanda Jones

Hi everyone!!! I’m Amanda Jones and I studied abroad in Florence with the College of Journalism and Communications as a freshman in the summer of 2023. I always knew I wanted to study abroad but I never expected to study abroad my first summer of college. However, when the opportunity presented itself, I felt that I had to take the unexpected and roll with it. Studying abroad was truly the experience of a lifetime! Though classes were still tough, I was able to travel all throughout Italy and explore places I never thought I would. The amount of times I had tears in my eyes and an uncontrollable smile on my face were countless. Florence is incredible! Its culture, history, and cuisine create countless learning opportunities! Through my time in Italy, I’ve been inspired to study abroad for a full semester! If you’re on the fence, I want you to know that it really is a one-of-a-kind experience where you will leave with stories beyond your wildest imagination and friends that become family.
